Tackling the competition
The Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association’s freshman tackle Commodores team is off to a great start. Center Anderson Strait is ready to snap the ball to quarterback Mason Riddle for the handoff to running back Andrew Baay, protected by linemen Tommy Vandor, William Green, Stephen Shavlan and Luke Weir. The team is wearing pink socks in recognition of breast cancer-awareness month. The Commodores are led by coaches David Baay, Rick Carr and Todd Riddle; assistant coaches Bill Strait, Eric Weir, Chris Halaska, Jason Gray and Stuart Rexrode; and mentee coach Corrigan Powell.
