The Friends of Down Syndrome will host the third annual Cinderella Ball March 18 at Norris Conference Center/CityCentre (in the Red Oak Ballroom, 816 Town and Country Blvd.). The Friends of Down Syndrome’s main program is the Down Syndrome Academy, a school for adults. Pictured is Bellaire High School graduate and current Down Syndrome Academy student J.J. Moore and his mom, Terrie Moore, at last year’s ball. Tim Heller, chief meteorologist at KTRK Channel 13, will emcee. The Academy offers academic programs, as well as vocational and wellness training. Students will compete leading up to the ball to raise the most money for their school and be named Prince Charming or Cinderella. See cinderellaball.org or friendsofdownsyndrome.org.
