Frank’s American Revival
For upscale fried chicken, the family-run and Zagat-rated Frank’s American Revival near Highland Village does not disappoint. Reasonably priced, even at $23, the tantalizing buttermilk fried chicken is three large pieces served with whipped potatoes and sautéed green beans. I enjoyed an oversized breast, meaty wing and succulent drumstick. The crunchy crust enveloped some of the juiciest chicken meat I have ever enjoyed. The retro comfortable setting of Frank’s is intimate and relaxed. The service is top-notch, and while there is always a nice crowd in the dark wood, club-inspired dining room, there is rarely a long wait. Frank’s combines comfort and service with great-tasting food, especially the Buttermilk Fried Chicken.
