The Armadillos of the Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association Rookie League took home the gold championship, winning four straight playoff games and finishing first out of 26 teams. The Armadillos, made up of kindergarten boys from St. Francis Episcopal Day School, were led by head coach Kent Setrum and assistant coaches Stephen Boutros, Canaan Factor and Tim Jones.
