Wheel to Survive Houston
Riders will mount their (stationary) bikes on Sept. 25, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center to do good things in the war against ovarian cancer.
Wheel to Survive, presented by Be the Difference Foundation, is an inspirational indoor cycling fundraiser where 100 percent of the dollars raised by riders directly funds programs for women currently battling ovarian cancer and provides research dollars for a cure. Be the Difference Foundation was formed in 2012 by four ovarian cancer survivors with a common goal to “Be the Difference” in the fight against ovarian cancer.
This will be the first Houston event and is being chaired by two women who have lost love ones to this often symptomless disease. Local spinning spots, including Kim Syma and Henry Richardson, will be hosting pre-rides to get the riders ready and pumped.
Either be a team captain and start a relay team or register for an existing team. You can also register as an individual rider. The event is 6 hours with six 45 minute back-to-back rides. Team members ride relay style sharing a bike. You can register to ride here by paying your $50 registration fee and setting up your fundraising profile.
