Nurturing nature
Pin Oak Middle School now has a new way to help the community. Students in the Urban Agriculture class led by Ms. Angela Roth raise chickens, grow vegetables, and care for the garden on campus. They even have some hummingbirds to look after. Pictured (from left) are students Tommy Wen, Megan Gutierrez and Grady Jones. Throughout the year, the students also host farmer's market sales where faculty, staff, parents and community members can purchase fresh herbs, kale, vegetables and eggs. Check the Pin Oak website for more information on the farmer's market dates, which are tentatively planned to coincide with the PTO meetings. See pinoakpto.org.
