Dancers Helena Stewart, Katelyn Krivan, Lauren Biar and Olivia Brown (pictured, from left) participated in the eMOTION Dance Company’s annual community show at Bellaire High School. The event draws dancers from around the city to showcase their dance pieces. These four eighth-grade girls are part of Memorial Dance Center’s Coral Company, which presented a hip hop routine at the event. During the spring competition season, the company competes in many events where they are scored on various elements of their performance. The eMOTION show is different because dancers are not competing, but instead are given the opportunity to enjoy dancing simply for the fun of performing.
