On Thursday night, Bellaire High held their annual International Food Festival, known more commonly as BISA. Different clubs from around the school brought ethnic foods that represented their cultures. The cafeteria was filled with students, family and teachers, all enjoying delicious foods from around the world.
Each club’s table was organized solely by students, many of the foods homemade. All of the clubs worked incredibly hard to make sure that their guests knew what each dish was and that they learned a bit, not only about the food, but also about the culture.
The night was an extremely diverse way of educating the students about the world while still having fun and eating a lot of food. Freshman Nicholas Hoang said, “I felt that the food was really authentic and clearly captured the culture and tastes of that particular country.” He said, “The Korean booth was honestly my favorite. The spicy rice cakes kept bringing me back!”
Overall, everyone loved the food. It’s no question that BISA is one of Bellaire’s favorite school events that will continue to be celebrated for years to come.
