In support of the Houston Astros, Carnegie Vanguard asked its students to wear Astros gear on the day of the Astros vs. Royals game. For a moment there, it looked like the Astros had their first shot at the World Series since 2005, and in a show of rousing support, many students at Carnegie turned out in Astros jerseys and t-shirts.
The monitors at Carnegie held a running score of the game, updated by innings, and even faculty and staff were invested in the outcome of the game. Though the Astros ended up losing 9-6, there was an unparalleled show of love and support for the team.
