October saw the arrival of the annual Bellaire versus Lamar football game. Bellaire and Lamar have been traditional rivals in everything from academics to athletics, and football is no exception. The Bellaire side was decked out in white, as the theme was “White out.”

The game started with Bellaire scoring a touchdown and leading for nearly a quarter of the game. In the end, Lamar won the game, with a final score of 31 to 14.

However, the Bellaire football team worked incredibly hard, scoring two touchdowns and two field goals by the end of the game. In addition to watching the game, spectators were also entertained by the Mighty Cardinal Band, the Bellaire Belles, the cheerleaders, booster club, and bird keepers.

“It was exciting to be surrounded by such energy and spirit,” said sophomore Eszter Heins. “And I loved to see Bellaire put up a good fight!”

Overall, the game was a ton of fun. The stands were filled and everyone was having a great time. The team fought hard and the game was incredibly competitive. Though our team didn’t win this year, Bellaire’s spirits are still up and ready for next year.
