The Thread Alliance and founder Sheila Aron welcomed 50-plus to Taverna in the River Oaks District for the Blue Plate Special Kick Off Party. Guests were inspired to join the 5th Annual Blue Plate Special, a month-long citywide fundraising campaign to raise awareness of child abuse. On display was I’m Glad I’m Me: Weaving the Thread of Love from Generation to Generation, a book Sheila wrote. A drawing included gift cards from Uchi and El Tiempo. In the crowd were Roy Murray, Julius and Avril Danziger, Larry and Kaki Buck, Vivian and Stanley Lipman, Joyce and Dr. Gary Nimetz, Sarna Sunshine, Carolyn Solar and Taverna manager Daniele Muratori.
