The Emery/Weiner Upper School's It Shoulda Been You

The Emery/Weiner Upper School recently presented It Shoulda Been You, a show that debuted on Broadway in 2015. Emery was the first school in the country to be awarded the rights to perform it on stage. Lead actors included Ryan Bronston, Hannah Golub, Audrey Goodman, Sofia Heyl, Roderick Harris, Katerina Mangini, Noah Pacht and Carly Tiras. The show deals with important issues such as body image, interfaith marriage, coming out, gay marriage and more. After the Sunday matinee show, The Montrose Center took the stage to lead an open conversation related to themes within the show, inviting the audience and larger community to attend. There was a large turnout of students, parents, faculty members, board members and school administrators to continue the conversation.

Editor’s note: The Buzz congratulates Buzz About Town columnist Annie Blaylock McQueen on the arrival of her beautiful baby Georgia. Annie is taking a short break to spend time with Georgia and twin toddlers Cash and Lila. In the meantime, associate editor Jordan Magaziner Steinfeld is handling this column.
