Friends flew to La Jolla for sunshine and a New Year’s celebration to be remembered. A clue that the Maitre D’ Restaurant was special came when individual ice swans with intermezzo sorbet were presented. Joe Davis, Rickie Prichard, Wanda Taylor and Jimmy Lyons were joined by La Jolla residents Ken Berry and Sue Taylor Ball. The group  toured the wine country,  walked along the beach, tried Segway rides and sampled espresso martinis at a beach restaurant. A point of amusement at the San Diego airport was a pet bathroom. On the door it said Pet Relief. Inside was artificial grass with a plastic fire hydrant and a poopy-bag stand. California dreaming.
