The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green
This March, enjoy Houston’s first Outdoor Roller Rink at Discovery Green. The rink officially opens tonight, 6-10 p.m. with a celebration featuring favorite roller rink tunes from the 50s through the 90s, plus two 10-minute derby demo battles at 6 and 8 p.m.
Texas Independence Day Celebration
Celebrate Texas Independence Celebration with this two-day festival held at the Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site. The event includes live music, food, traditional crafts, living history presentations, cannon and musket firing lines, historical encampments, commemorative programs, reenactors and more.
Downtown Rodeo Parade
Get in the rodeo spirit with the Downtown Rodeo Parade starting Saturday morning in downtown Houston.
2017 Rodeo Run
Run for a cause in the 2017 Rodeo Run, benefiting the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s Educational Fund. The event starts at the corner of Walker and Bagby on Saturday morning and ends with a post-race party near Eleanor Tinsley Park.
Fifth Annual Hermann Park Dog Walk
Bring your dog and walk for a cause on Sunday morning for a one-mile walk around McGovern Lake and the Jones Reflection Pool. There’s also an option of a 5K around the Marvin Taylor Trail. There will be a party afterward for dogs and their owners.
Keep Calm and Think Prom
Join Crime Stoppers of Houston for an afternoon at TOOTSIES to get your teen ready for prom. Guests can check out the latest prom trends in a fashion show and hear from Crime Stoppers' prom panel on how to stay safe.
Houston Jewish Film Festival
The annual Jewish Film Festival kicks off March 5 at the Evelyn Rubenstein JCC. This year's festival includes 26 films over 16 days.
