Outside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the Wolff family followed the Via Dolorosa during their day of touring. From left are Marilyn, Max, Martin and Carl.

When Marilyn and Martin Wolff visited Israel and Petra, Jordan, with their sons Carl, 14, and Max, 12, they were able to ride to the Syrian border to see major sites that were normally off limits during times of conflict. Their native-Israeli guide and driver gave them a lot of insights. During the 13-day trip they cycled in the Golan Heights, climbed Masada and saw the La Traviata opera at the bottom, floated in the Dead Sea and touched the Wailing Wall before going to Petra, as Marilyn had one more adventure to cross off her bucket list. They were impressed with how modern and organized the small country is and its world-class amenities.
