’Tis the season for family togetherness, celebrations and, as evidenced by social media, engagements. The Finkelstein family has a lot to celebrate this year - the upcoming marriages of 26-year-old twins, Melissa and Melanie, to (respectively) fiancés Danny Gutman and Joseph Lipp. Plus, the family is head over heels for the addition of sister Amy’s new baby. Eldest sister, 32-year-old Lauren, has a thriving career as a DJ for popular Houston radio station MIX 96-5.

Recently, when the family got together, the four sisters, who are all very close, took this photo, which quickly went viral.

Buzz resident Arlene Nisson Lassin, who knows the family, wrote about it on Huffington Post weddings, and it’s spread around the Internet, including Cosmopolitan

This photo was taken by their father, Mark, during Melanie’s engagement – the most recent sister to get engaged. In fact, we featured the twins’ engagements in Buzz About Town in November.

The photo is hilarious because, as Lauren told Arlene in the Huffington Post article, the engagements are a cause of celebration but also, for Lauren, an opportunity for many to ask her when she, as the oldest, is going to have a ring on her finger.

Not only is the photo funny, but relatable to many – especially during “engagement season” - as it quickly went viral. Lauren told us today she thinks many are sharing this photo because, “People feel there’s a certain age you’re supposed to do things by these days. For example, get married, have kids, buy a house, start being an adult.” She said that she was previously engaged, about six years ago, and looking back, it would’ve been a mistake.

“I know ‘the one’ is out there, and I’m perfectly ok with waiting for him to find me,” she said, “New Year Day 2 status update: still single.”
