Thousands lost their power (and much worse) after flooding that hit Houston over Memorial Day weekend. Those who lost power included Buzz columnist Sharon Brier and her husband Mike, who are Memorial residents. The escaped outdoors to walk their dogs when they saw their neighbors, Chris Baker and children Kylie and Bryce, talking to Stuart and Jana Kusin and Felicia Baker. Neighbors on the north side of their street did not have power, but the south-side neighbors did. The Bakers brought coffee to their caffeine-deprived neighbors while the Kusins provided a tray of fruit with bagels and cream cheese.
