Mike and Jennie Baker (pictured) were among those attending the Spring Branch Education Foundation’s gala. The SBEF has named new members to its board of directors, including Jennie as the board’s chair. She will take over the role from Lisa Schwartz, who held the position for four years. Some other members of the executive committee are Debra Aitken, marketing and public relations; Tamma Howell, Making Our Schools Better campaign; Gary Junek, nominations; George Kurisky, development; Susan Marks, planning and administration; Warren Matthews, scholarships; Donald Roseman, program and assessment; Debbie Slack, special events; and Kelly Siblik, Council of PTAs. SBEF provides a place for donors to make tax-deductible gifts to benefit Spring Branch Independent School District.
