Hello, my name is Noah Sonabend, and I am currently a 10th-grade student at The Emery/Weiner School. Two years ago, I discovered the power of my words. Walking downstairs on the morning of October 7th, 2023, I heard of the terrible horrors that occurred in my mother's home country, and I knew I had to do something. Turning to writing, I published a poem discussing the horror in Israel from the perspective of a 13-year-old boy. Receiving praise from peers, I submitted my poem for publication in a local magazine. This experience taught me the power of words, which have the ability to unite a community, and sparked my passion for writing.
