My name is Hallie Lyons and I am a senior at Incarnate Word Academy, a small but beautiful community nestled in the center of bustling downtown Houston. As a busy high schooler, most of my days are filled with challenging school assignments, demanding volleyball practice and endless college applications, but I can’t say I don’t love the chaos. I was born into it. I am the eldest of five children, all incredibly involved in the community, constantly rushing off to baseball practice or Girl Scout meetings. “Free time” is not a common concept in my household, but I embrace this. My busy life makes for a great subject for short stories, original films, and lots of wacky photos. I discovered my “creative brain,” as my mother calls it, when I was 13, on a family summer trip to Colorado. My dad handed me his camera and said “document everything.” And I did. I discovered that I loved being behind a camera, which led to me discovering that I also loved being behind a pencil. I am so excited to expand my passion for writing and photography by sharing my stories as a School Buzz correspondent.
