The Bibeaus take their team sports seriously. Brian tosses an iron in the horseshoe tournament, with the pioneer blacksmith shop in the background.
The Buzz takes flight
Thanks so much for publishing the interview Tracy Barnett wrote about our family reunion [Travel Buzz – Family Reunions: Getting Away to Get Together, July 2014]. The article turned out so nice that I decided to give a copy to my mom in assisted living in Denton. As Southwest carried me towards Love Field today, I finished reading The Buzz, then left it face-up on my tray table while I looked for a pen. Tammy, the friendly flight attendant, spotted the award-winning photo of the damselflies [2014 Buzz Magazines Photo Contest, First Place, Nature Category: Shu Cheuk, Honeymoon on Pink] and said, “Wow, what a pretty magazine! Where did you get it?” I replied, “It’s my neighborhood magazine.” I quickly grabbed my business card and copied down the Buzz website from page 4. When Tammy came back by, I gave her the website. She was thrilled and said she’ll definitely check it out. Gotta love Southwest and The Buzz!

Pup’s pop says thanks
How very kind of you to publish the story of my Teddy in Neighborhood Tails [Teddy, age 1, Golden Retriever, Sackett St., The West University Buzz, July 2014]. I can’t wait to get copies to share with all my friends.

Big on burger story
I had just finished eating lunch when I opened The Buzz and read your article from The Burger Blogger, Russell Weil [This Month in Dining: Burgers, July 2014]. His descriptions including jalapeño fried eggs, kimchi, pickled and crispy shallots, Dr. Pepper marmalade, moist challah rolls and pillow-soft buttery buns made my mouth start to water! I can’t wait to follow his blog at eat-more-burgers.com. My own personal favorites are from Barnaby’s, Brooklyn Athletic Club and anything made by The Eatsie Boys.

Liked seeing Bill in The Buzz
Thank you so much for presenting Bill with the opportunity to write an article for and be published in The Buzz [Buzz Kidz – Bill Chandler: Blue Monday no more, The Memorial Buzz, June 2014]. What fun! What an honor! We really appreciate that. As an English major, I am especially thrilled when I see my children expressing themselves with written language. I love to read about their experiences because they will write things about their activities or events that they don’t think to mention in conversation. Writing seems to bring out the details.

Glad for youth-sport coverage
I look forward to receiving The Buzz each month and will immediately turn to the SportzBuzz, Jr. column. I love seeing the great pictures of the younger kids in action. The column has opened my eyes to the wide variety of sports that are available to the youth in our area. I also would like to commend Jacob Padden on extending his love of sports by editing the column each month. What a great way for a young adult to hone his writing skills while putting smiles on the faces of the younger kids in the community when they see themselves in print.
