Despite the floor-length gowns and frigid weather, St. Agnes students danced the night away at the annual Winter Ball. Dresses ranged from deep blue to floral-printed pink, the heels were high, and boys sported boutonnieres and bow ties.
The theme, “Under the Sea”, was a huge hit and included fun décor of tea candles and blue tablecloths. The dance is a long-standing tradition at St. Agnes Academy, and also hosts the Winter Court elections. Eight girls are chosen to be part of the Winter Court, with the ultimate goal of being crowned Queen of the Court. The positions include second runner-up, a first runner-up, and finally, the queen.
This year, Peyton Manning won the Winter Ball crown, with Tate Mitchell and Asha Jones following in as runner-ups; all are seniors. Overall, the dance received high praise by those who attended, and indelible memories were created.
