Spotted at Levy Park
Buzz photographer Dylan Aguilar teamed up with summer interns Jordan Miller-Mandel and Karina Arnold to chat with Buzz residents and take these photos.
For anyone looking to venture out on a hot summer’s day, Levy Park is a nice spot to find some shade. Grassy hills, a playground with slides and a fountain that kids can splash around in are all under the park’s tree canopy.
Asher Barrow, age 2, leaped on top of a hill. Energetic and animated, he crawled down the hill in his Batman T-shirt.
Asher wasn’t the only one making the most out of Levy Park. Kids were everywhere - snacking on treats and sipping from juice boxes in the patio area, running through the streams of water that shoot down from the splash fountain, climbing up the rock wall and hopping on the slide.
“We came here to burn off some energy,” Ramiro Garcia said, looking up at his younger brother, Nathaneio, who was about to go down the slide. Levy Park is a great place for energetic children. The shade makes it so kids can run around without having to worry too much about the heat.
“We love Levy Park,” said the grandmother of 2-year-old Eneko Gagne. “He loves Levy Park, especially the phone booth. He wishes he could get inside it.”
The colorful atmosphere and pleasant breeze at Levy Park almost made us forget the Houston heat.
