City of Bellaire’s 2018 Fourth of July Parade
The rain didn’t stop some Bellaire residents from heading out to the 2018 Fourth of July Parade. With umbrellas in hand and rain jackets on, residents were dressed from head to toe in red, white and blue attire, setting the scene for a fun, patriotic day despite the rain.
With inclement weather in the forecast, the City of Bellaire had already cancelled the festival that was supposed to follow the parade, however, the storms were too much. Ultimately, the parade itself was also cancelled due to lightening. That didn’t stop some residents from showing their Independence Day pride, however.
The parade floats were judged with the winners being Bellaire Family Eye Care taking home first place, Wolfies Swim School winning second place and Bellaire High School FFA landing in third place. Additionally, from kids on their bikes to Boy Scouts ready to march down Bellaire Boulevard and South Rice Avenue, we snapped some of these pictures before the parade was cancelled. Have a safe, happy and dry Fourth of July!
