Honoring Eagle Scouts
Three Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 599 at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony. Richard Harris (on left), a senior at Stratford High School, completed his Eagle Project for FamilyPoint Resources, where he designed and led a group of fellow Stratford students in the creation of geometric art murals for the FPR auditorium. Will Peachee (middle), a graduate of Memorial High School and a current freshman at Johnson & Wales University in Denver, coordinated his project with the Memorial Villages Fire Department for the City of Hedwig Village. He led teams of volunteers, spread throughout Hedwig Village, to remove worn street reflectors and to replace them with new, department-approved blue reflectors that identify the locations of fire hydrants. Andrew Amoruso (pictured, on right), a sophomore at Memorial High School, completed his Eagle Project at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary, where he led a group of scouts and adults in multiple tasks.
