Help and hope after Harvey
On the second anniversary of Hurricane Harvey, author Julie Beasley presented a check on the field of Minute Maid Park to the Astros Foundation for its ongoing Harvey relief efforts. Beasley’s colorful children’s book, H is for Harvey, tells the story of acts of kindness during and after the storm. Its overarching themes are help, healing and hope: H is for the heroes, the kind without a cape – first responders helping people trapped by water to escape. Her book was released in time for the hurricane’s one-year anniversary, and 100 percent of the book’s royalties are donated to the Astros Foundation, the official team charity of the Houston Astros. Pictured are Beasley with children Pippa and Elliott at the game. Check out “Help, Healing and Hope: Children’s Book Tells Tale of Harvey Heroics” by Deborah Lynn Blumberg.
