Although rodeo season was cut short this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials recently announced 644 students who received one of the organization’s educational scholarships. Each student received $20,000 to apply toward a four-year undergraduate degree. Buzz-area recipients include Samiha Zaman, Bellaire High School; Scott Lai, BHS; Tasnim Gadalla, BHS; Starr Martin, BHS; Sara Thurman, Lamar High School; Tina Huynh, Lamar; William Moore-Jones, Lamar; Ana-Sofia Ruiz, Memorial High School; Alexander Hong, Stratford High School; Tran Banh, Stratford; Brennan Rouhana, Westside High School; Hanade Abdalla, Westside; Mary Parra Roman, Westside.
