New Eagle Scouts
Five Scouts were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout during a Court of Honor ceremony at Troop 642 sponsored by Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. The new Eagle Scouts are (from left) Thomas Cain III, a senior at Spring Woods High School; Nathaniel Shea, a senior at Heights High School; James Shea, a senior at Memorial High School; Avery James, a senior at Oak Ridge High School; and Zachary Danek, a senior at Westchester Academy of International Studies. Thomas’ Eagle Scout service Project included re-striping the parking lot at the Spring Branch Family Development Center. Nathaniel’s project included creating a promotional video for the Houston ToolBank. James refurbished a prayer garden benefiting Terrace United Methodist Church. Avery’s project benefited Gracewood in Houston, constructing a utility ramp and extending a paver walkway to improve access. Zach’s project included constructing a prayer-garden space benefitting Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism.
