Young Female Entrepreneurs of Memorial High School
While Memorial High School is known for its production of excellent students and top athletes, there are also many young adults working passionately towards their goals outside of the school’s walls. Juniors Farrah Wohlford and Jamison Appel are two wonderful examples of hard-working young women who have accomplished so much within a short period of time.
Farrah Wohlford Photography:
Sixteen-year-old Farrah Wohlford discovered her love for photography in her freshman year of high school, when she decided to take a photojournalism class through Memorial High School. She had no previous photography experience, but the class taught her the basic functions of the camera, and many techniques popularly used in the journalism field. After she completed the class, Farrah decided that she wanted to continue working in the field; currently, as a junior, Farrah is in the prestigious AP Photography class at Memorial High School. She never expected that photography would be one of her main focuses in high school, but she couldn't be happier with her newfound passion.
In May of 2020, Farrah announced the launch of her now thriving photography business. With extra time in the spring due to the Covid-19 lockdown, she was given the perfect opportunity to turn her dream of creating a business into a reality. Back in her freshman year of high school, she created an Instagram account where she posted pictures from her photojournalism class; at first, the account’s following was mostly made up of friends and family, but it has slowly grown into a successful account where she displays a multitude of different shots and projects.
She has quickly gained popularity among people in the Memorial community, and with her business quickly expanding, and more opportunities on the rise, Farrah has goals to expand the diversity of her client base and to push creative boundaries in her shoots.
If there is anything that Farrah would like for her clients to know, it is that she has as much fun during shoots as they do! She enjoys getting to know her clients and understanding their visions for the shoot, and she does her best to return photos back to her clients in a timely fashion. She is a responsible young woman who values communication and timelines, and she never fails to leave her customers satisfied with the quality and timeliness of her photography.
Farrah and her clients describe her business as positive, fun, artistic, and innovative. She works primarily as a portrait photographer, but she offers a wide variety of shoots to her clients. From senior and family portraits, to medium sized events, to marketing and even instagram shoots, this photographer does it all. With her meaningful and colorful work, her clients always leave shoots with a wonderful experience and stunning photographs.

Jewelry by Jamison:
In seventh grade, now sixteen-year-old Jamison Appel enjoyed crafting handmade friendship bracelets for her friend’s birthdays. When the opportunity arose to attend a mother-daughter mission trip in Guatemala, Jamison knew that her passion for jewelry making could help her raise the funds that she needed in order to attend.
She quickly got to work building her Instagram account in order to advertise her jewelry. Her now popular Instagram account, @beadedandwrapped, which she shares with her dear friend Suzy Telle, features a wide variety of products.
