In Texas, the first Tuesday in October means National Night Out, which aims to build neighborhood camaraderie, promote police-community partnerships and, ultimately, make our neighborhoods safer. On National Night Out, neighborhoods host block parties and cookouts with visits from police officers and emergency personnel to increase awareness of police programs and enhance police-community relations. Here, we’ve gathered a list of details for National Night Out in Buzz-area neighborhoods:

City of Bellaire
Oct. 5
Join Bellaire neighbors and the Bellaire Police Department on Tues., Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. If you live in the City of Bellaire and would like to be a block captain, call 713-662-8296 or email cliccketto@bellairepolice.com for more information.

West U
National Night Out in West U takes place Tues., Oct. 5, 5:30-8:30 p.m. If you live in West U and are planning a neighborhood celebration, invite West U first responders to stop by. Contact Officer Wilson at 713-668-0330 or email Kwilson@westutx.gov

Memorial Villages
If you live in Memorial Villages and are planning neighborhood festivities, invite Memorial Villages first responders to swing by. You never know: Stormy (the beloved department dog) might make a guest appearance. Contact Officer Larry Boggus at lboggus@mvpdtx.org. Piney Point Village neighbors are invited to gather at Village Towers (9655 Katy Fwy) to visit, chat with team members at Belong Kitchen, enjoy snow-cones from 024, and more.
