Sunny days
The Memorial Villages Police Department gathered to celebrate Stormy’s third birthday at the station. Stormy – the department comfort dog, adopted shortly after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston – has reached near celebrity status around the neighborhood. She spends most of her days patrolling the station and is often a guest at DARE graduations, the Fourth of July Independence Festival, training sessions and National Night Out. She usually makes an appearance during tours of the station and has received some special requests to attend private community events. Since Stormy’s adoption, other local police and fire departments have inquired about the impact of having a dog like Stormy at the station, and it seems she may have started a trend. Pictured are party attendees (back row, from left) Sharron Reed-Metz, Mark Gress, Chief Ray Schultz, Commander Eric Jones, Nancy Bornman, Officer Frank Lerma; (middle row) Cecelia Zeitlin, Margret McCarthy, Valerie Wallace, Maureen Loud, John Bornman, Sgt.
