‘Fore’ Memorial Villages PD
The second annual Birdies Fore Blues golf tournament benefiting the Memorial Villages Police Department was a huge success. Founders Hunter and Harrison Lee, students at Memorial High School, organized the event along with help from fellow MHS student Michael O’Shell. In just two years, the boys have raised more than $330,000 for the Memorial Villages Police Foundation. The funds directly benefit local police and their families as well as directly supporting the family of Memorial Villages officer Nick Harwood, whose new son Forrest has been in and out of the hospital. The tournament was held at The Clubs at Houston Oaks and consisted of matching up the MHS Golf Team with first responders, elected officials, police commissioners, and Memorial-area residents. Winners were Nick Meserve, Kyle Charles, Turner Chiles, and Lieutenant Heath Hawley with a score of 61.
