UT Austin’s new student leaders

Thierry Chu (pictured, left) was elected vice president of the UT Austin Student Government for the 2025-26 school year. Chu, along with executive alliance running mate Hudson Thomas (pictured, right), will serve the university as vice president and president for the upcoming school year. Chu attended West University Elementary, Annunciation Orthodox School, and St. Agnes Academy before enrolling at UT Austin. When she was in fifth grade, she wrote a Buzz Kidz story, published in The West University Buzz, on her passion for writing. A rising senior, Thierry is studying in the Plan II Honors program with an English major and minors in Spanish and Religious Studies. The newly elected pair want to strengthen the university’s ties to Austin’s professional landscape by expanding access to networking resources. They also plan to create a mental health week for students, implement a centralized room reservation system for campus organizations, and develop a database for community service opportunities. Congrats and Hook ’em!
