A library wedding

High school sweethearts Mark Oldham and Emma Mueller (pictured) were married at the Julia Ideson Library in downtown Houston. After meeting and dating “for a minute” in middle school, the pair reconnected during the spring of their 12th grade year, and they were an official couple when they graduated from Memorial High School in 2017. Despite attending colleges across the country from each other, Mark at Purdue University and Emma at Villanova University, they stayed together. Mark proposed to Emma underneath the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center in New York City in December 2023. Oldham family friend Mike Scott officiated the ceremony that was followed by an outdoor cocktail hour and candlelit seated dinner among library books selected by the couple. After dinner, the newlyweds joined family and friends on the dance floor with the band Blind Date from Austin. Mark and Emma are now back in New York where he works as a consultant and she is a nurse.
