Enjoy a full day of dynamic programming celebrating Black history, including:

Express Children’s Theatre: A captivating theatrical performance bringing history to life for young audiences. When: At 11 a.m. in Brown Auditorium.

MLK Oratory Contest Winners: Powerful youth voices share words that inspire hope, leadership, and change. When: At noon in Brown Auditorium.

Black History Month Story Times: Engaging stories highlighting Black heroes, culture, and resilience. When: At 1 at 3 p.m. in Parent Resource Library.

The Griot Speaks:  Master storyteller Manning Mpinduzi-Mott channels the tradition of African griots through drumming, dance, audience participation, and magical tales rooted in African history. When: At 2 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.

All-Day Activities:

Fearless Trailblazers – Ruby Bridges: Create a model of Ruby Bridges’ school while learning about her bravery during the Civil Rights Movement.

Star Promise: Write a pledge of kindness to remind families that one person truly can change the world.
