Family Day at Bayou Bend & Rienzi: Myth, Folklore & American Tales

Visit the two MFAH house museums - Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens and Rienzi - for an afternoon of free, family-friendly programs that connect myths, folklore, and American & European history through storytelling, music, activities, and demonstrations. At Bayou Bend, visit with experts on the origins and legends of baseball; explore Native American legends; hear the story and background behind the poem “Paul Revere’s Ride”; learn to lasso with a cowboy; and more. At Rienzi, search for all of the mythological figures hiding throughout the house; learn more about Greek and Roman heroes and myths; and go home with your own mythological creation.

Park at Bayou Bend and take the complimentary shuttle between locations!
