On view at the Menil Collection is a site-specific work titled "Drawing" by Chicago-based artist Gladys Nilsson (b. 1940). The work is the seventh installment of the museum’s ephemeral Wall Drawing Series and will be on display at the Menil Drawing Institute through August 9, 2026. Known for her densely layered and meticulously constructed watercolors and collage populated by distorted figures with exaggerated poses, Nilsson’s latest work presents fantastical, hybrid beings all surrounding one monumental figure engaged in the act of drawing.
