St. Agnes’ spring musical, “Anything Goes” opened for students on Feb. and was a success. “Anything Goes” is about a young stock broker, Billy Crocker (Christopher Auchter), who falls in love with the beautiful Hope Harcourt (Dani Echeverri). Billy stows away on the SS American where he finds Hope with her husband to be, Lord Evelyn Oakleigh (Andy Gambini).
With the help of inadequate gangster Moonface Martin (Matthew Wagner) and nightclub singer Reno Sweeny (Maddie McAllister), Billy is determined to get the girl of his dreams to marry him.
The students of St. Agnes and Strake Jesuit have been preparing for the musical for a long time now often staying at school until 10 p.m. Their hard work has paid off as the play features beautiful singing, top notch acting, and great dance numbers. The great music heard in the play is conducted by Jeremy Wood, St. Agnes Performance Workshop coach, and the amazing choreography seen is by Julie Chiton, St. Agnes dance coach. The cast of “Anything Goes” is hoping to be nominated for the infamous Tommy Tune Awards once again.
