Lanier leaders
About 150 Lanier eighth graders spent a week prior to the start of school preparing for their roles as Guidance and Support Group Leaders of their homeroom teams. Supervised by teacher sponsor Mike Giroir, students practiced their teambuilding and trust-building skills. Lanier parent Sherri Luehr, CEO of Parachute Consulting, which provides clients with emergency medical training, courses and presentations in health and safety, spent one day providing students with hands-on experience in CPR and first-aid, along with teammates Anna Welsch, Tara Gomez and Robin Baughman. Pictured is Michelle Mut, who’s pretending she’s choking, and Naomi Pryzant, who’s practicing abdominal compressions to “save” her.
