Ashten, age 11

Hi! I was rescued at the age of 10, and now I am celebrating my one-year anniversary with my new family. It was an adjustment for all of us since my playmate is a 11-year-old dachshund, Jessie, who rules the house, and being 35 pounds larger took some getting used to for my new family. They are still not convinced I am a lap dog. But I know they love me because I have taken over the leather ottoman and the big leather chair when I can get away with it, and no one yells at me. Everyone says I should be on the cover of a famous hunting magazine because I look so regal. I am a Llewellin Setter and love to point at things. Most of my time is spent pointing at lizards in the backyard. Occasionally I spot a bird, squirrel or rabbit and consider that a big day.
