Norah Shroder, a Condit Elementary graduate who will attend Trafton Academy, loves to help animals and wants to be a vet one day.
Hi. My name is Norah, and I’m in Girl Scout Troop 21216. We are working on our Bronze Award for community service. We chose to raise money to help animals at the SPCA. To help raise our donation money, we held bake sales at the Bellaire Recycles Fest and the Trolleywood Movie Series featuring Monsters University and Frozen. Our troop baked lots of chocolate chip cookies and brownies and other goodies. Everyone bought our treats and loved the cookies. We have raised a total of $486. Plus, my mom said she would round it to $500 to give to the SPCA to help animals that don’t have homes.
I love animals and want to help animals that don’t have families to take care of them. I have two dogs named Honey and Lucy. I got Honey for my sixth birthday, and ever since, I have been cuddling and snuggling her. Honey now sleeps in my bed every single night. I got Honey when she was only an itty bitty, little, adorable puppy, and only six weeks old. Her mother was found on the street with puppies, and someone took her in! I also have a cat named Lexi, two guinea pigs named Snoodle and Buttercup, one guppy, one beta fish, one goldfish, one tetra, a catfish, plus a hermit crab that is super boring. It’s so boring, I almost forgot to add it to the list.
I love to take care of my pets except my hermit crab, who I always think is dead. Here is a hint to all people who plan on getting guinea pigs: 1. They are very messy. 2. They can stink badly. 3. They eat constantly. 4. They are too cute. I plan on being a vet when I grow up for several reasons. First, I love animals, second I want to help any animals that are hurt or in pain, and third, vets make a good income.
