Arabian days and nights

Lauren Sigmon, a sophomore at Texas A&M University and a 2013 Bellaire High School graduate, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Arabian Horse Association for her academic achievement, leadership and involvement with equine activities. Her family has a ranch in Engleton, where they breed Arabian horses for shows. Lauren rides as often as she can, including just about every weekend in the summer. During the school year, she balances riding and showing horses with her major in agricultural leadership and development. Pictured is Lauren with 6-year-old Arabian horse Cadilac.
