Golf, greens and gatherings
This summer, Houston Methodist supporters gathered in Aspen for a three-part event hosted by Cam and Rod Canion, Nancy and Jack Dinerstein, Kimberly and David Dominy, and Lesha and Tom Elsenbrook. Golfers teed up in the mountain air for the Grand Rounds Golf Open presented by Bayou City Capital, in which they were greeted at the fifth hole by Dr. Mauro Ferrari, president of Houston Methodist Research Institute; Dr. John P. Cooke, chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences; and Dr. Michael Reardon, chief of the Division of Cardiac Surgery. Non-golfers enjoyed eatable greens and insights about cooking with chef Martin Oswald and Houston Methodist nutritionist Kari Kooi during Food for Thought at Pyramid Bistro. The day concluded at Aspen Golf Course where guests enjoyed mountain views, cocktails, BBQ, live music, awards, raffle drawings and more. All of the funds raised from the day benefited the Translational Research Initiative at the Houston Methodist Research Institute. (Photo: Matt Power)
