Mildred Street neighbors

Neighbors on Mildred Street often get together, from formal gatherings such as their annual block party in May to frequent, informal gatherings on the street while the kids ride bikes, play catch or create games with bubbles. Pictured are some of the Mildred Street kids, (front row, from left) Emmet Freeman and Reese Johnson, with (back row, from left) Liam Freeman, Morgan Chambers and Mackenzie Chambers during one particularly hot summer day when everyone wanted to get out of the heat. The kids splashed around in the Bellaire pool, with the little ones cheering for older brothers and sisters who bravely jumped off the high dive. The families brought along a potluck-style picnic for everyone to share. Erin Johnson said her neighbors are like family, and these frequent gatherings are one of the reasons her family loves living in Bellaire.
