Amanda and Travis Thompson

Newlyweds Amanda and Travis Thompson step into their new married life as they step out of Chapel Hall in the Hill Country.

It was only natural that at Amanda Savage’s marriage to Travis Thompson the Aggie War Hymn was sung by a group of Aggie grads linked together. After all, Amanda and Travis met their freshman year at Texas A&M University. Later, in December 2013, he surprised her with a horse-drawn carriage ride through Highland Park in Dallas for the proposal. They married this summer near the Blanco River inside Old Glory Ranch’s charming Chapel Hall, with longleaf pine, antique light fixtures and 19th century stained glass windows. Guests dined under crystal chandeliers hung on majestic live oaks. The groom’s cake was a modern touch, covered with bite-size Reese’s peanut butter cups. Parents of the couple, Peggy and Ron Thompson and Joy and Gardner Savage, said, “Hullabaloo, Caneck! Caneck!” as the couple whisked off to a Costa Rican honeymoon. Gig ’em.
