Looking for a fun but quick day trip? Head to Moody Gardens for some fun events, including the final weekend of A Magical Christmas 2014: Dinner and Show with illusionist Curt Miller plus the 13th annual Festival of Lights, including more than 1 million lights and animated displays and live entertainment. In addition, check out the Iceland Ice Sculptures with Spongebob Squarepants, featuring internationally-acclaimed professional ice carvers.

Museum exhibits

The Museum of Fine Arts is hosting a 45-minute tour “Lunch + Look” Monday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. featuring some of the most beloved works at MFAH. Perfect for out-of-towners wanting to see some highlights.
