Guests, dressed in “Versaille Magnifique” or “Tres Chic” to give a toast to elegance that made Marie Antoinette a legend, attended the Soirée Marie benefit to support Stages Repertory Theatre costume and clothing design. The champagne flowed and the gemstones glittered at Crimson/Lumen Lounge, where the owner Joe Arbeely held court. Actual royalty there included Lady Lorraine Palmer of Great Britain and relatives of Marie, the Duchesse Catherine de Gramont of France, Archduchess Maria Anna of Austria and Prince Piotr Galitzine of Russia, who had a royal good time with Carolyn Farb, Joanne King Herring, David Peck, Amy McGee, Vivian Wise, with her Velvet Slipper Divine boutique on wheels, and Michael Pearce, Matt Burrus and Lyn Sullivan, among others who won gems from Houston Jewelry.
