Briargrove Elementary’s 12th annual Patriot’s Day celebration was a success. Fifth-grade students, all in period costume, were transported back to Colonial America for an evening at a home in Briargrove, with parents playing different characters from that time period. Everyone stayed in costume the next day at school, where students played games, made candles and corn-husk dolls, and performed a dance for their parents. Pictured are Patriot’s Day chairs and their fifth graders, all headed to Grady Middle School next school year: (from left) Bailey and Kane Kinney, Ann and Mary Ruth Cochran, and Susan and Pete McConn.
