Ruby, age 2

My name is Ruby, but I hate the color red. The tall ones around me seem to think that because my name is a shade of crimson that I should be forever adorned in that awful color. Thankfully my partner in crime, Violet, always has something purple for me to steal … I mean share! Every day, I start off with a walk down my runway. The yellow-haired one often watches a show about modeling, but they have yet to feature a furry cast member. She seems to understand that I will be America’s first fur-covered top model, especially when she has me strike poses in sweaters. If only she knew that chewing her high heels was my hint to buy me a pair of my own! If you see me strutting down the block, let the yellow-haired one know that my career will flourish as soon as she lets me audition.
