They’ve got spirit
The West University Elementary School Mustangs got a chance to show their school pride during spirit week. Each day brought a new dress theme, and every class decorated its door for a grade-level competition. Students got involved in a raffle contest to suit up Mr. John Threet, the principal and an avid Longhorn fan, in a Texas A&M jersey. The week was organized by the school’s auction committee and co-chairs, J.C. Al-Uqdah, Linette Courtney, Cara Michael and Sue Sim. The entire school participated in a pep rally with the Lamar High School band and cheerleaders. Students cheered on their teams in a heated flag-football game, with jerseys donated by Tudor, Pickering and Holt.
